Some people are not perfect candidates for LASIK. In fact, some careers traditionally prohibit the procedure. Also, a very small percentage of the population have eyes that are more risky in these procedures and will be turned away by LASIK doctors based upon risk. These two conditions are very rare and are the only reasons that a person with less than perfect eyesight might not want to consider LASIK.

The Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force have recently become open to the procedure for nearly ALL service members, in fact, by the time you read this, it might be open to all service members. Also, the other career that was traditionally not supposed to have LASIK, professional athlete, is void of this distinction as well. So, now there might not be a single career that prohibits the LASIK procedure.
